Simec install Panasonic WV-NW964 cameras within a London car park with auto tracking function. The auto tracking function can be started manually from the control room via the CU950 desktop controller or left to automatically follow movement as soon as it is detected in the scene. The camera also features a drag and zoom feature where the camera will move to and zoom in on specific areas selected by the user using the powerful 30 times zoom lens.

When lighting levels drop, the camera switches to black and white mode for better low light sensitivity.

Simec Security have installed two sets of IDL Fastlane R400 units as part of anti tailgating access control measures at Harbour House, Preston. The system has been designed to limit restricted area access to valid cardholders only, and limit use to one person per valid card presentation. The integral R400 optical beam matrix is able to detect tailgating attempts and rapidly alert staff by local alarm sounders contained within the turnstile pedestals.

The site is secured and monitored by the Siemens SiPass Integrated access control system, which controls access to external doors to the office suites, as well as monitoring electronically secured Fire Exit doors.

A single Siemens ACC-Lite controller provides cost effective Ethernet enabled control which allows the client to programme and monitor the site remotely over their existing IT infrastructure.

During a very busy weekend, the Simec access control team working alongside the Integrated Design installation division completed the installation of twelve controlled lanes, using a variety of turnstiles from the IDL range.

Within the main reception areas IDL Fastlane Glasswing products have been selected for their aesthetic design and high speed operation. At each main entrance a DDA compliant Dual Intelligate has been installed which allows easy site access for wheelchair users, as well as deliveries.

At the unmanned entrance two full height Fastlane Glasswing units (one DDA width) have been installed to ensure access is limited to authorised cardholders only.

Tailgating attempts are detected by an infra red beam matrix within each of the Fastlane units, which alert reception via audible alarm. In addition, each turnstile alarm is monitored via the Siemens SiPass Integrated access control system which currently controls over 85 proximity readers across the three sites.

Three ACC advanced central controllers (ACC AC5100) link each site over the clients high speed Ethernet. Anti passback zones have been created for each building to ensure Sipass can generate accurate role call reports of staff site attendance in the event of emergency. Proximity readers also restrict access to the site lifts.

For more information on our range of turnstile systems, please contact Simec Security.

Simec Security complete security and access control upgrades at the Exeter offices of a FTSE100 client in the finance sector. The Simec Security and IDL engineering teams carried out the installation of three lanes of Fastlane Glasswings and two sets of Dual Intelligates over a single weekend.

The high speed turnstiles provide throughput levels of up to one person per second, while pulsed infra red beams within the Fastlane Glasswings can detect tailgating attempts down to 5mm between users.

Adjacent each set of Glasswings, DDA compliant Dual Intelligates provide access for wheelchair users and deliveries. The area between each pedestal is monitored by infra red detection beams which checks the number of people entering and direction of travel. Tailgating attempts are quickly identified and indicated by local alarm sounders.

The site is secured with the Siemens SiPass Integrated access control system with a single Advanced Central Controller (ACC AC5100) providing a localised cardholder database and high speed communications over four FLN busses for the 40 installed cardreaders. The reception turnstiles have been configured for timed re-entry anti-passback to prevent cards being passed back to colleagues for unauthorised entry to site.

Simec Security were recently invited to assist the in relocation of a FTSE100 Company to new offices in central Manchester. With a six week installation programme, Simec were able to design, procure, install and commission an access control system providing anti tailgating security over four floors.

All entrance doors as well as computer and patch rooms are are controlled by the Siemens Sipass Integrated access control system. Seven sets of IDL Fastlane R400 turnstiles control entry and egress from the office areas and provide a physical barrier preventing unauthorised access. The R400 units are able to detect tailgaters following as close as 5mm behind authorised users, and generate local alarms if attempted tailgating is detected.

The installation was completed a week ahead of schedule allowing the site to be secured in advance of the staff relocation.

Simec Security complete the installation of full height Gunnebo ClearSec GD120 turnstiles at a Sainsburys Distribution Centre, providing site entrance control for over 3000 staff and contractors. The turnstiles are controlled through the Siemens Sipass Integrated access control system with Hard Anti-Passback enabled.

The Sipass system option prevents access cards being used for re-entry to site until they have been recorded as leaving the Anti-Passback zone created on the system. This ensures that roll call and muster reports provide accurate details of all staff, contractors and visitors on site in the event of emergency evacuation. The turnstiles also eliminate tailgating issues associated with many conventional access control systems.

Simec Security complete the installation of a Paxton Net2 acccess system controlling over 30 doors at the Royal Free Hospital, London. A number of doors which are in the more remote areas of the Hospital such as top floor Lift Motor Rooms and Roof Plant Rooms have now been added to the system through the Hospitals Ethernet.

RS485 to Ethernet converters support the system, where running new cables to remote areas would have been cost prohibitive.

The powerful Net2 software has allowed multiple clients to be installed, ensuring administrators are able to monitor the system and issue cards from a variety of locations within the Engineering Office.
