Simec Security replace access control system at Royal Free Hospital, London
Simec Security commence the replacement of a redundant and failing access control system at the Royal Free Hospital, London.
The existing system was no longer supported by the manufacturer and was causing intermittent network faults.
Simec Security were able to export and convert the old database and import to the new Paxton Net2 system.
Card holder database fields, as well as proximity card numbers were automatically transferred, eliminating the need for end user manual data input.
The Net2 software allowed us to create a custom wiegand format, enabling all existing readers and cards to be re-used, saving considerable sums on the project costs.
Simec Security solve CCTV night time visibility problems at data centre
Simec Security have just completed a major overhaul of CCTV systems at the West London Data Centre of a leading retailer.
Simec were invited to make recommendations to upgrade an aging system which had limited external coverage and poor visibility in low lighting conditions.
New Panasonic Super Dynamic WV-CW964 dome cameras now provide cover for all vulnerable external areas and produce high quality colour images even at night. The cameras can switch to monochrome night mode on failure of external lighting.

Simec Security complete access control installation on the Isle of Man
Simec Security complete the installation of Siemens SiPass access control for the International Offices of a FTSE 100 Company in the finance sector.
During the commissioning process all staff were photographed and new access control cards printed and issued.
Simec Security worked closely on the project with the local installer G4S, who will continue to provide first line callout response and service/maintenance support from their base on the island.
Simec door interlock resolves tailgating problems at data centre
Simec Security commission door interlocking as part of a major security upgrade at a Hertfordshire data centre.
The client was keen to monitor the movement of contractors, to ensure that they sign in to Security Operations and receive induction before entering the secure areas of the site. Locking systems were introduced to external and internal doors with the interlock designed to prevent both doors being open at the same time. Local alarm sounders activate if either doors are left open or forced.
As part of the CCTV upgrade, Panasonic Super Dynamic WV-CW964 cameras have been installed externally providing views of the entire site perimeter controlled via a Panasonic WV-CU650 desktop joystick and keyboard.
A rack mounted Panasonic Real Time Digital recorder provides a high quality image archive.
