Simec Security complete Manchester anti tailgating access control project ahead of schedule

Simec Security were recently invited to assist the in relocation of a FTSE100 Company to new offices in central Manchester. With a six week installation programme, Simec were able to design, procure, install and commission an access control system providing anti tailgating security over four floors.

All entrance doors as well as computer and patch rooms are are controlled by the Siemens Sipass Integrated access control system. Seven sets of IDL Fastlane R400 turnstiles control entry and egress from the office areas and provide a physical barrier preventing unauthorised access. The R400 units are able to detect tailgaters following as close as 5mm behind authorised users, and generate local alarms if attempted tailgating is detected.

The installation was completed a week ahead of schedule allowing the site to be secured in advance of the staff relocation.
