Lift destination control integrates with turnstile access control in London Headquarters

In an interesting project in the City of London, Simec were approached to create a bespoke interface between ThyssenKrupp elevators and a Siemens SiPass Integrated access control system. The intention was to provide a software driven interface in a multi tenant building to allow existing users to automatically call the lifts to the correct floor by simply presenting a card to a reception turnstile. Display screens were custom built to sit inside the Gunnebo turnstile lids to indicate which lift car had been called. By the time the users had entered the lift lobby the lift would be present on the Ground Floor and waiting.

Destination selection control (DSC) has vastly improved the efficiency of the existing lift system and negated the need for expensive lift upgrades and the installation of additional local access readers in the lift cars.
